** Why do you need to change the spit pad? The printer spits ink onto a spit pad to circulate ink throughout the ink lines. If the spit pad is hardened from old ink, when the printhead passes and spits on it, the ink will bounce right back into the printhead. This can cause banding, printhead clogging, and trouble with printing. This is a "replace as needed" part.
